The Contest

The basics:
Your entry must be :

  • original
  • previously unpublished (Update: This includes online publishing)
  • short fiction (up to 3,000 words)
  • in English.
2 Theme: There is no set topic or theme, and entries can be of any genre of storytelling.
3 Eligibility: This contest is open to all residents of India regardless of citizenship.
4 Number of entries: An individual can send in only one entry.

Deadline: Entries will be accepted only between the 1st and 31st October 2004.

Update: Entries will now be accepted up to 30th November 2004.

6 Submission Method: Entries will be exclusively via email.
Please see Technical Guidelines for details on how to mail in your entries.
7 Entry Fee: There is no entry fee.
8 Acknowledgemet: All entries will be acknowledged via email from caferati@gmail.com to the email address from which your entry is sent.This is a manual process, so please don't expect an instant response. However, If you do not receive an acknowledgement within a week, that means one of three things:
a We have not received your entry. Please resend.
b Our acknowledgement was intercepted by your spam filters. To avoid this, we recommend that you enter that address into your email program’s address book and/or filters as a “safe address.” We will never send you unsolicited mail or advertising, and we will not sell your address to spammers. That’s a promise.
c You have not followed the Technical Guidelines. Re-read them carefully. We will simply delete entries that don't follow them.
9 Read and understand the Terms and Conditions before you send in your entry. Update: Please include a statement to that effect in your submission attachment.
