PenTathlon - Five exercises for Fiction Writers (Workshops - Writing)

Date: Saturday, 2nd February (Session 1); Sunday, 3rd February (Session 2)
Time: 10:30 – 13:30 (both days)
Venue: Bombay Natural History Society, Auditorium
Conducted by: Kavita Bhanot

PenTathlon, a two-day workshop, will serve as an introduction to fiction writing. It will include five fun writing exercises that draw inspiration from the world around us, and will focus on five aspects of creative writing: characterization, dialogue, description, point-of-view and openings. All these will be drawn together to produce a micro-story over two days.

(More about the workshop leader and details on how to register below the fold.)

Kavita Bhanot was born in London, lived in the West Midlands for ten years and moved to Delhi in 2006. She has had her short stories published in anthologies and journals, and broadcast on BBC Radio 4. She has MAs in Colonial and Post-Colonial Literature and in Writing, from Warwick University, and has been studying and teaching creative writing for the last five years. She has been a co-ordinator for the Birmingham Book Festival for the last three years and directed the 2007 Kitab Literary festival in Bombay. She is currently an editor at Osians Literary Agency.

Is it supposed to be pentathlon or is the spelling intentional? Even the root athlon does not warrant this spelling. That too on a gazette!

Hi

This is my first mail/comment on the gazette.
*Claps*
Thank You!!! (How egoistic!!!)
Well to begin I wish you could extend the wings of Kala Ghoda to New Delhi. I could be well involved in any requirements to the extension. “Pentahalon” is so much an interesting workshop, which I assure would have gathered a lot of us to attend.
Hope we get to hear from your soon. Till then we can relish the contests etcetera through sms, mail and the mind.
Kudos to all involved!!!
