Stories at the Coffee Table
We’re very pleased to present our first book, Stories at the Coffee Table.

Stories at the Coffee Table is the result of an online contest that invited submissions of previously unpublished short fiction in any genre, in English, from Indian writers. The contest received over 200 entries from practically every corner of the country. The winners were chosen by a panel of selectors, and the shortlisted stories were then fine-tuned by the editors.
About the Stories
You’ll find a wide mix of genres, styles and subjects. They’re set in different eras, and a wide variety of locations; some you’ll recognise, others only exist in the minds of the writers. The authors come from a variety of backgrounds and professional areas, and for most of them, this is the first time they’ll see their writing in a book. So what holds it all together? We’d like to think of this book as a sample of contemporary Indian writing in English. Writing that takes its Indianness for granted. That does not feel the need to explain or exoticise for the foreign ear. Writing that just is. Writers having fun telling stories. Does it all work? You tell us.
